Terms of Service

Last updated: April 6, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Guardian Route, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the platform on behalf of a school district, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Service Description

Guardian Route provides a multi-tenant SaaS platform for school bus fleet management, including route optimization, real-time GPS tracking, parent communication, driver management, and reporting. Service availability is subject to your subscription tier (Starter, Professional, or Enterprise).

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Each user account is assigned a role (super admin, admin, dispatcher, driver, school admin, or parent) that determines access permissions. Multi-factor authentication is available and recommended for administrative roles.

4. Data Ownership

Your district retains full ownership of all data entered into Guardian Route. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your data. Upon termination of service, you may request a full data export in standard formats.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Guardian Route only for its intended purpose of school transportation management. You will not attempt to access data belonging to other districts, reverse-engineer the platform, or use the service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

6. Service Level

We target 99.9% uptime for the Guardian Route platform. Scheduled maintenance windows are communicated in advance. Real-time features (GPS tracking, push notifications) depend on third-party services and network connectivity.

7. Limitation of Liability

Guardian Route provides routing recommendations and real-time information as decision-support tools. Final operational decisions remain the responsibility of district transportation staff. We are not liable for route deviations, delays, or incidents arising from operational decisions made using the platform.

8. SMS/RCS/WhatsApp Messaging (FleetMessenger)

Guardian Route's FleetMessenger feature enables authorized administrators and dispatchers to send operational text messages (SMS, RCS, and/or WhatsApp) to drivers employed by or contracted with the subscribing organization.

Consent: By providing a phone number during employment onboarding and accepting a driver role within the platform, drivers consent to receive operational messages from their fleet administrator. Messages are strictly limited to employment-related operational communications, including route assignments, schedule changes, weather delays, cancellations, safety alerts, and training reminders.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on operational needs. Drivers will not receive marketing or promotional messages. Urgent messages may request a yes/no confirmation response.

Opt-out: Drivers may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message or by contacting their fleet administrator to remove their phone number from the system. Opting out may affect the driver's ability to receive time-sensitive operational communications.

WhatsApp: WhatsApp messaging requires separate opt-in by the driver. Drivers must initiate a conversation with the organization's WhatsApp Business number before messages can be sent to them via WhatsApp.

Costs: Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Guardian Route is not responsible for any charges incurred by your carrier for receiving text messages.

Support: For questions or help with messaging, contact your fleet administrator or email support@guardianroute.app.
